We grew up admiring the gorgeous Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality, The Proposal and The Heat for her beautiful face, a goddess-like body, and her ever charming personality. Little did we know, that our love for Bullock will only keep increasing with every passing year, but she will refuse to age even an extra day.
The actress has been awarded as People’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman in 2015 and even at the age of 56 today, her beauty and charisma remain unmatched in Hollywood. Sandra looked just as young and ravishing in her recent release BirdBox and Oceans 8 like she did in her first movies.
We can’t help but wonder what she eats, how she lives, what does she do to for that flawless skin and her magic potion to maintain herself. So, we did a little digging and found out a few secrets that keep Sandra Bullock glowing like a 16-year-old even at the age of 56.
1. Workout Plan
It won’t come as a surprise to you if you have watched Gravity, but Sandra Bullock works out like a beast. The actress has always been into dancing and gymnastic since her childhood which helped the foundation of her fit body.
She works out with two Australian celebrity trainers Eden Paul and Simone De La Rue who have time and again spilled the beans about her workout regime in various interviews and magazine articles.
According to an article in PopSugar and the Health magazine, The Sandra Bullock workout plan includes a full-body workout with intense cardio sessions like jumping rope, running, or dancing.
She then alternates between 10 minutes intervals of cardio and strength training exercises. Bullock also does a lot of Pilates and stretch band exercises working on different parts of her body.
These are some of the mandate exercises included in her workout regime:
One-armed Superwoman Press
The move begins with a plank keeping your body straight and core tight. Then, you lift the left leg and right arm to make them parallel to the floor and hold for three seconds at least.
Once you have returned to a plank position, perform a push-up, get back to plank position and repeat with the opposite arm and leg. Two sets of 10 reps.
Band Curlers
Start with standing on the resistance band holding each end with palms facing you. Curl your hands slowly towards your shoulder while keeping the elbows close to your body. Take the band back slowly to the start resisting the pull. Perform at least 20 reps.
According to RadarOnline, Sandra also balances out her workouts with Yoga, kickboxing, and weight training, cycling and running. Usually, Sandra works out 6 days a week without fail but she also revealed to InStyle that there are times when she takes a few weeks off from working out and just focus on having a peaceful mindset and giving her body the time to relax and recover.
In the Liod Film Festival Press Conference during the release of Gravity, Bullock also joked about having to lift her 3-year-old son who is 40 pounds all around the house is sometimes enough workout for her. 2. Diet
Sandra Bullock does not believe in starving herself to get the perfect body. The actress likes to keep a balance of good carbs, food full of fiber, and low GI scale including a lot of veggies and fruits. Her diet mostly includes brown rice, chicken, fish, black beans, vegetables, bananas, kiwi, and apples.
Sandra eats 5 to 6 times a day to keep her energy flowing and metabolism going. According to CBS’s new report, the actress believes in meal portions and eats about 5 to 6 meals a day keeping each of them filling and healthy. This practice helps the actress with her metabolism and keeps her energy level high throughout the day.
According to an article by Emirates Woman, Sandra’s usual meals in the day include:
- scrambled eggs with grilled tomato for breakfast,
- grilled chicken or grilled fish salad with feta cheese, and some black beans along with balsamic vinegar and spinach dressing for lunch,
- she consumes grilled Salmon fillet with brown rice and some kind of greens for the evening, and
- takes nuts, seeds, and apple slices for snacks.
Foods like pasta, bread, white rice, crisps, and sweets are banned from her diet strictly. The actress follows two stringent rules when it comes to her diet: drink lots of water throughout the day and not eat anything after 6 in the evening.
Bullock does have a sweet tooth and likes to give in to her dessert cravings on her cheat day every week. In an interview with InStyle, the actress revealed that she keeps one day aside every week for her cheat day and prepares a list of everything that she wants to eat on her cheat day in advance.
3. Skincare Routine
Sandra has always resorted to natural ways over any chemical alternatives. The actress has a habit of massaging her face with a slice of fruit which keeps her skin radiant, fresh, and glowing. According to an article in Real Style Beauty Network, Bullock has a basic 8-minute skincare routine of cleansing her face, massaging it, and moisturizing it.
Like any other woman of her age, she does use anti-aging cosmetics to get rid of the dark circles, remove the puffiness, even out the fine lines, and preventing premature wrinkles.
She hasn’t revealed any of her Holy Grail products to the media though.
One time in the famous Ellen Degenere’s Show, Sandra did admit to trying out the Epidermal Growth Factor technology. In this process, stem cells from the foreskin of circumcised Korean baby boys are introduced in your face to promote collagen formation and accelerate skin renewal on a cellular level (wait, what?)
4. Makeup essentials
Along with the basic skincare routine, a healthy diet, and consistent workout, the actress also has some makeup tricks up her sleeves that accentuate the best of her features. Sandra is all about minimal and classic warm shade look. She usually goes for neutral lips and smoky eyes along with highlighting her cheekbones.
According to Harpers Bazar, the actress prefers going with a moisturizer followed by a neutral shadow foundation with thick mascara, simple pink lip gloss, and peach or coral blush for her cheekbones. She chooses the particular shades of pink and peach to emphasize the youthful vibes on her face.
The actress has always denied any artificial changes like lip fillers, surgeries, and anything else done on her face. Looking at Sandra, we don’t think she needs anything done on her face for years to come.
The most important thing that Sandra preaches is focusing her energy on wellness, being happy, balancing out her mental health along with her physical wellbeing.
